Pulau Payar is well known as one of Malaysia’s best snorkel and diving destinations and a great place to learn to SCUBA dive, with white sand beaches, azure waters and kilometres of coral teeming with riotous tropical sea life. Pulau Payar is just one hour away by ferry from Langkawi. The amazing coloured fish seen when snorkelling will remain in your memory for years to come. Two trekking trails have also been made available for visitors to explore the flora and fauna of the island.
Pulau Segantang is located 13 km West of Pulau Payar. The two twin outcrop go down 20 m deep to a sandy bottom. On the rocky slopes you can find beautiful hard coral and sea fans around 15 m deep. You can spot nurse sharks, barracudas, lobsters, moray eels as well as schooling jacks. The visibility here is usually better than in Pulau Payar and in Langkawi Island.
